What is Blueberry Extract?
Blueberries are grown in Europe, Canada and the U. S. And extracts of the ripe berry are known to contain flavonoid pigments known as anthocyanins - which act as powerful antioxidants.
Modern laboratory studies on pterostilbene have confirmed a number of activities including antioxidant effects, an ability to inhibit aggregation of blood platelets (reduce stickiness, hence a tendency to clotting of blood cells), produce a slight relaxation effect on vascular smooth muscles, and a possible role in reducing factors associated with chronic inflammatory diseases.
Main Function:
1. Pterostilbene is a natural analog of resveratrol, which is one of the compounds thought to contribute to the "French Paradox" associated with red wine consumption.
2. Like resveratrol, it belongs to a class of compounds called phytoalexins, which are naturally produced by plants when under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi, but now it is available by chemical synthesis.
3. And like resveratrol, there are animal studies showing it's efficacy at improving heart health, most notably by correcting the dyslipidemia that leads to atherosclerosis and coronary heart.
4.2-4 Pterostilbene is one of several stilbenes found in certain berries (e. G., blueberries, cranberries, sparkleberries, lingonberries, and grapes), thus, consumption of these small fruits may help improve health.
Function:
1. Anti-lipid oxidation
2. Heart disease prevention
3. Anti-carcinogen
4. Anti-platelet aggregation
5. Smoothes blood vessels
6. Decreases blood lipid
