While the roots of Siberian ginseng are found to be woody in nature, in case of Panax species, they are fleshy. Even the active compounds in the roots of both plants are different. True ginseng roots contain compounds called ginsenosides, whereas Siberian ginseng has eleutherosides. But, Siberian ginseng is said to have properties that are similar to that of true ginseng, as eleutherosides are also adaptogens, like ginsenosides. So, Siberian ginseng is also widely used in the form of dried root, root powder, capsule, tablet, tincture, extract, etc.
